I live alone, but I am not looking for a wife or husband as I am used to my situation and the freedom it allows me. Throughout my life, I have cared for others and always been the person that people have gone to for protection, or advice, or to get things organised.
I love mountains, the sea, nature and old buildings, and try to take 'artistic' pictures rather than just snaps. I'm also a good cook and occasionally cook a meal for friends, and I walk (fast) most days.
My work is highly technical and has taken me around the world, which was great for a while, but after 8-years of living abroad things changed - hence me being single now. I still yearn for the thrill of living in another country and trying to exist somewhere where the language and lifestyle is different. I have had to learn French, German, North Austrian, Spanish, Dutch, Norwegian and Chinese, but am pretty terrible at most of these now.
I am hoping to find someone here who needs a father figure, or someone to advise on life's challenges, but more than just a friend - I have plenty of those. I need the closeness you get from a proper relationship but via email. This has to include honesty and reliability. It takes more than a few emails to determine what a person is really like, so if you are the type of person who just walks away as soon as something better comes along, then you aren't right for me.
