I am looking for a listening ear. Yesterday, while I was jogging, I found an ear on the street, but I didn't see the man to whom it had belonged. Since this ear seemed to be quite dead, I think it could hardly be called a listening ear. I said to myself, that this ear might have belonged to Vincent Van Gogh, the famous Dutch painter from the south of France. That thought should not surprise you, since I have a keen interest in painters and paintings; also all kinds of other pictures and art.
This eerie story aside, I mostly use my own ears to listen to music. Almost all kinds of music: often Bach and sometimes Offenbach. The last songs I listened to were Tears to Burn, Tears and Laughter, and Cry me a River, all by Dinah Washington, one of my many favorite singers. From those three titles, you can guess my current mood. "It is the evening of the day, I sit and watch the children play. Smiling faces I can see, But not for me. I sit and watch ...". I don't listen to K-Pop, Hip Hop, death metal, Elvis Presley, 2Cellos or Lang Lang (the last two are too ostentatious).
Some facts about me: I am 15 years old and I live in Holland, but I was born in Belgium, and it is only since last summer that I live here. I am pretty good at languages and you can write me in English, Dutch, German, French and 37 other languages, but I will only reply in English or Dutch. I am more religious than most other girls, but a lot less than your average bishop. I am deeply concerned about the planet, its climate, its environment, the violence of so many people and the bad politics of certain countries. I don't like people who say that they are childfree, but have a dog which they love more than the girl next door. I hate your dog, but I would be pleased if you can send me some yummy dog recipes.
